The Beat Within currently works as a program under the 501(c)3 status of Pacific News Service dba New America Media. Most of our funding comes from grants and foundations with some coming from individual donors.

Beat facilitators combined, drive an average of 400 miles a week to workshops. That can get expensive at 50.5 cents a mile and the cost of a gallon of gas hovering at just under $4. Gas gift cards would help alleviate some of that burden on our volunteers.
